PSLE English has several distinct components, and each one needs its own practice, not just general reading and writing.
PSLE English is assessed across several distinct components — each one gets dedicated practice and exam technique.
Combining or rewriting sentences while preserving meaning — one of the most technique-heavy components.
Writing to a specific purpose, audience and format (emails, notices, letters) with the right tone and register.
Narrative and expository essays, built through planning techniques, model essays and structured teacher feedback.
Both open-ended and MCQ comprehension, with technique for locating evidence and answering in the marker's expected format.
Interpreting posters, infographics and advertisements — a component many students underprepare for.
Reading aloud, conversation and listening comprehension practice for exam-day fluency and confidence.
English is a writing-heavy subject — small class sizes mean teachers can give direct, individual feedback on every composition and situational writing draft, not just a grade.
Topical worksheets and real past-year papers keep practice aligned with what actually appears in school and PSLE English papers.
Two 1.5-hour classes a week keep every component — from synthesis to visual text — in steady rotation, so nothing gets left until the last minute.
Edufarm has guided primary school children through PSLE English since 2002 — two decades of refining materials and marking feedback through thousands of students.

Common questions from parents about PSLE English tuition.
PSLE English includes synthesis and transformation, situational writing, composition writing, comprehension (open-ended and MCQ), visual text comprehension, and oral and listening comprehension. Each component is assessed separately and needs its own practice.
Structured practice with planning techniques, model essays and direct teacher feedback on each draft, so students improve their own writing rather than memorising a template essay.
Both. Our P5 tuition introduces and practises each PSLE English component, while our P6 tuition shifts to intensive revision and past-year paper practice.
